Town Marketing Project

As part of our 4 year plan, we want to tell people about Halesworth and bring visitors and local residents into the town to support the local economy and make it one of the most vibrant market towns in Suffolk.  In order to do this a marketing stakeholder working group (MSWG) including representatives from local retail and hospitality businesses, tourism, the arts, countryside and heritage organisations, the Town Council and East Suffolk Council, was set up to work together to develop this project and a brief was created for a Marketing Coordinator for the Halesworth. The work of the coordinator will be supported by the MSWG. The MSWG is a working group of the Leisure and Environment Committee of the Town Council and the coordinator post is funded for two years. The group will monitor how successful this project is in terms of bringing in visitors to the town.

As part of this project a new town website and brand is also being developed with funding from East Suffolk.

Once the project brief had been drawn up, a report went to Council with a proposal that a part time Marketing Coordinator be sought for Halesworth:

The MSWG interviewed a selection of local, highly qualified and enthuasiastic candidates, with the contract being awarded to Kelly Parker. The post of Marketing Coordinator is part time at 15 hours a week and with a salary of £11040, per annum and is for two years.
