HALESWORTH TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council has a major role in acting as a ‘watch-dog’ for the town and in reporting matters to the principal authorities at Waveney District and Suffolk County Councils .The Council is consulted on all Planning Applications, Highway matters and the delivery of other services to Halesworth. The Council supports local voluntary bodies; can initiate cultural, leisure and environmental projects and can secure funding from outside bodies for the benefit of local initiatives. The Council is also responsible for allotments and the local Wednesday Market in Halesworth.
The Town Council has few powers but does its best to influence decisions taken by the District and County Councils for the benefit of Halesworth and its residents.
