Halesworth’s New Look Annual Parish Meeting
Every year a Parish or Town must hold an Annual Parish meeting. It’s not a Town Council meeting but one that the Town Council facilitates to enable electors and residents to discuss things that are important to them. It’s a chance for the Town Council to also give an update on their plans for the year. The Annual Parish meeting has always followed the same format, a ‘formal’ (boring...) style meeting with items raised in turn. Attendance had started to dwindle so the Council thought it might be time to rethink the event…
This year rather than a formal meeting where people take it in turn to speak, we are creating a space for local groups and organisations to showcase their activities. This includes the Town Council who will have a stand which will include the information that was in I Chameleon. There will be a bar, food and trade stalls. Face painting and live music.
There will be a short formal meeting for those who prefer to put their questions forward in this way. Unfortunately, the bar will have to close during this!
This event will take place in the Town Park on Saturday 18th May 4pm – 8.30pm.
There are still spaces for organisations who want to have a presence at the event, it might be a way to increase your membership, make connections with other likeminded individuals or simply raise the awareness of your cause. Email enquries@halesworthtowncouncil.gov.uk for more information.
